According to Walle & Campos (2014), when young children walk upright for the first time, there is a real leap in learning new words. Free walking and learning are therefore linked at a very primal level. This suggests that walking could be useful for learning and teaching. On an omnidirectional treadmill, it is possible to have a targeted didactic influence on how learners walk. This project will therefore use an omnidirectional treadmill to scientifically investigate whether and how the didactically targeted influencing of a person's walking can activate or guide their learning. This investigation could therefore result in a new method for educational practice to motivate or didactically guide learning through free walking. The translation or transfer of the results of this research project could consist of using the didactically motivated influencing of learners' walking in educational practice.
