Strengthening social relationships – understanding aggressive interactions

Not everything is always as peaceful as we would like it to be. At school, intact social relationships and positive classroom dynamics are basic prerequisites for successful teaching and learning. Aggressive behavior damages social relationships. However, aggression is not simply a problem concerning a single individual; rather, aggressive behavior occurs in social interactions and endangers the well-being and positive development of everyone involved.

LISA addresses precisely this issue and wants to understand what contributes to aggressive behavior, which factors have a preventive effect, and how teachers can be supported in creating a supportive and positive classroom climate.

Study Design

7th to 9th grade teachers and their students are asked about their experiences and behavior. LISA focuses on classes: class teachers and their classes, as complete as possible, are asked to participate. The survey takes place online and lasts approximately one lesson (45 minutes).

Why is LISA important?

Your participation will help to gain important insights into the topic of aggression in the school environment. This will allow for a better understanding of how aggressive behavior at school can be prevented and how prospective teachers can be supported in dealing with aggression in the classroom. The findings flow directly into teacher training and further education.
