Teacher stress has far-reaching implications for teacher health, classroom interactions, positive student development, and the education system as a whole. The ATLAS study investigates how to prevent teacher stress and promote positive student development. By identifying key risks and resources, ATLAS lays important foundations for future prevention and intervention.
ATLAS stands for Associations between Teachers' Psychological Strain and Allostatic Load, the Classroom Environment, And Student Development. Healthy teachers are an indispensable prerequisite for successful education. Like ATLAS, the hero of Greek mythology who holds the heavenly spheres, healthy teachers are the pillars of education. ATLAS, therefore, aims to prevent psychobiological stress in teachers, strengthen social interactions, and promote positive student development. ATLAS aims to avoid negative health consequences and improve the quality of education.
