Effective vocabulary treatment in meaning-oriented language teaching
Theory and latest research to language teaching with particular focus on input and vocabulary
This multidisciplinary course attempts to build a bridge between the latest research evidence on vocabulary acquisition in modern foreign language learning and daily classroom practice.
In addition to a theoretical introduction, concrete examples of teaching material will be presented. The course is intended for all teachers of modern foreign languages in upper secondary schools.

- The relevance of meaning orientation and input procession in language acquisition
- Principles of input-based incremental (IBI) vocabulary instruction
- Vocabulary development through IBI
- Transfer of research findings to teaching practices

- Intermediate or higher level of English
- Recommended book (not required): Input-based incremental vocabulary instruction (2012, TESOL International) by Joe Barcroft
