Summary

The PHBern is committed to promoting inclusion at the higher-education level through the diploma programme Experts for Inclusion (F-INK) and within the stark³ network. The Movetia project “Inclusive Higher Education: Global Perspectives and Cooperations” (InHe) extends these efforts by adding an international perspective. Higher-education institutions and organisations from Switzerland, Canada, and other countries are collaborating to adapt proven models of inclusive higher education for the use in the Swiss context. A central element is the 2026 study trip to Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) and Inclusion Alberta. Both are leading actors in inclusive higher education and offer valuable perspectives for the further development of F-INK and inclusive higher-education in Switzerland. They emphasise approaches such as reasonable accommodations, mental health services, and Universal Design for Learning, which promote participation and academic success for all students. The insights gained will be feed into an international expert conference in March 2027 in Bern and contributing to the embedding of inclusive higher education.
