PHBern promotes inclusive higher education through the diploma programme Experts for Inclusion (F-INK) and its active involvement in the stark³ network. The new project “Inclusive Higher Education: Sustainable Models, Networking, Funding, and Professional Participation”, part of the research programme Inclusive Education, is supported by Movetia and broadens PHBern’s efforts by adding an international perspective. The project connects universities and organizations from Switzerland, Canada, and other countries to analyze, refine, and adapt proven models of inclusive higher education development for the Swiss context. A core component is the 2026 study trip to Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) and Inclusion Alberta, both of which are leading institutions in promoting inclusive higher education and supporting the transition into working life. The insights gained will inform an international conference in Bern in 2027, bringing together stakeholders from research, practice, and policy. In doing so, the project contributes to the development of further initiatives and to the sustainable anchoring of inclusive higher education in Switzerland.
